Vincent Hynson 2016 Award Students

To honor the memory of Vincent Hynson, a community activist, teacher and pastor who died in 2004, awards are presented in his name to Kent County Middle School students who demonstrate and practice the values that Vincent Hynson practiced – community involvement and good citizenship.

The students selected for 2015-2016 are JayShaun Freeman, 8th grade, Damion Aycola, 7th grade and Jayden Reid, 6th grade. A team of teachers and administrators from Kent County Middle School made the choices. Each student is admired by the faculty and fellow students for his leadership, scholarship and involvement. JayShaun is captain of the basketball team, and cited for being always respectful and willing to help others. Jayden is also enthused about basketball, as well as math, science and reading. Damion joins many of his class mates in his love of basketball, but his goal is to be involved in theater arts and to become a screen actor.

Leslie Raimond, Director of Kent County Arts Council will present each recipient with a check and certificate at the Breakfast Celebration for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Rock Hall Fire Company from 7:00 to 9:30 am. The event is sponsored by Chester Valley Ministers Assoc. and the Kent County Arts Council.
