Let Us Sing Together, Children, is a music and spoken word celebration of the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, the Legacy of the USCT (U.S. Colored Troops) in the Civil War and the second inauguration of President Barack Obama.
It will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 7pm at the Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre, 210 High Street in Chestertown. Admission is free and all are welcome.
This second annual performance will recognize the power that music and poetry played in the Civil Rights movements and celebrate the culture that continues to work for social justice.
