Much to do in the Merry, Merry Month of May in Kent County.

May 4, 2012 First Friday (receptions 5- 8pm) in Chestertown offers the following arts events:

At 7pm the Robert Ortiz Studios, 207 South Cross Street, will present a special poetry and jazz performance by Robert Earl Price, Pres Harding, and Bob Ortiz.

The Artists’ Gallery at 239 High Street presents “Landscapes and Seascapes” by Jim Rehak as well as “Celebrating Still Life” by Mary Graham.

Artworks at 306 Park Row features “Celebrate Chestertown.”

Chestertown Arts League on 312 Cannon Street will take a  Second Look, featuring plein aire paintings created last weekend.

Kent County Public Library features local artists Holly Boyle, Cindy Brittain, Emily Kalwaitis and Stephanie Somers.

Carla Massoni Gallery 203 High Street continues The Space Between: Greg Mort and Shelley Robzen.

The PNC Bank at 211 High Street will display the photographs of Judy O’Dell

Thursday, May 3, 7:30 at The Mainstay in Rock Hall Max’s Mainstay All-Stars reunite for an evening of sparkling, spontaneous, highly improvisational jazz.

Sunday, May 6, 4-6 pm at The MainstayGershwin on the Fly.  To benefit HomePorts, join  local musicians Joe Holt on piano and Tom Anthony on bass for a celebration of a fabulous by-gone era in American music.

Saturday, May 12, 7 pm at Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince TheatreSpring Jazz Concert featuring The Bratcher Project.
