Jason Patterson

An Artist’s Introduction
A survey of artwork on the African American condition, past & present by Jason Patterson.

A new position for a Washington College professor leads to a Residency for a great artist – KCAC’s Artist in Residence, Jason Patterson.

Patterson is a history-based artist that hails from central Illinois. Patterson has relocated his studio to Chestertown, MD to research and make work on the rich African American history of Kent County. His work is focused on highlighting how our past influences our current American political and social conditions.

Jason was commissioned by KCA to create a portrait of Isaac Mason for permanent installation in the front entry hall.
