Happy 2020!
We, the Board of Directors and Staff of the Kent County Arts Council, are thrilled to announce our new name, new look, and new mission! As we move deeper in to the 21st Century, we vow to be a center for cultural expression and artistic interpretation for all Kent County residents! We will continue to invest in arts and culture based community nonprofit organizations as well as expand opportunities for artists and residents through an expanded visiting artist program. In all that we do, we will maintain a sharp focus the role arts and culture plan in connecting people, and we will do this through a lease of equity, diversity and inclusion (as guided by our main funding partner Maryland State Arts Council), and we hope that you will help us keep that focus and expand our reach across our beautiful County.
Aiding in the execution of all of this work will be the new Vincent and Leslie Prince Raimond Cultural Center at 101 Spring Avenue, Chestertown. Projected opening – November 2020.
As of January 1, 2020 we will be known as the Kent Cultural Alliance. By allying the arts and humanities together, we can build stronger communities through those things which connect us. And so – welcome to the new year, and to the new:
