100-Voice Choir Performs for the 9th Annual Vincent Hynson Scholarship Concert – Saturday, October 26, 2013

Don’t miss this annual spectacular musical performance!

The 100-Voice Choir performs at the 9th annual Vincent Hynson Scholarship Concert at Washington College’s Decker Theatre on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 3 p.m.

The concert raises awareness and funds for a Washington College scholarship that honors the memory of a dedicated and beloved teacher, coach, pastor and community leader in Kent County.

Vincent Hynson, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Washington College as a non-traditional student in 1987, died of cancer in 2004. The Vincent Hynson ’87 Scholarship is awarded to a Kent County resident from an underserved population who is an outstanding scholar and who emulates Hynson’s personal qualities and values.

Advance tickets priced at $5 will be available at a variety of Chestertown businesses, including Music Life, The Bookplate, Twigs and Teacups, and Big Mixx, as well as from choir members. Admission at the door will cost $7. Decker Theatre is located in the Gibson Center for the Arts at Washington College, 300 Washington Avenue.

Founded in 2005, the 100-Voice Choir is the vision of Sylvia Frazier, a gospel music producer and promoter who runs S & B Productions with her husband, Bill Frazier. The annual fundraising concert in honor of Vincent Hynson is co-sponsored by Washington College and the Kent County Arts Council.
